Today, and every day, we honor the great service and sacrifice of our nation’s Veterans. We are humbled to know so many extraordinary Veterans at BraveHearts. Wishing you all a wonderful Veterans Day.

The last few days, we had the opportunity to work with 10 PATH Intl. centers, and some 25 individuals, many of whom were Veterans, as part of our Changemaker program. Changemakers 2025 was designed to impact programs in all areas, amplifying centers who have existing Veteran equine-assisted service programs and to reach and impact more Veterans. We know horses heal Veterans in programs across the nation and it is our hope that these wonderful and compassionate individuals take our teachings home with the hopes to elevate, advance and expand their reach, furthering healing horsemanship in our country. Way to go Changemakers for powering through the last couple days. Your heart and dedication for serving Veterans is truly exceptional. ❤️💙

Power, PATH International Region 7 Equine of the Year, may not have won the international title today, he will still always be first in our hearts! Going above and beyond his work in the arena, Power is an extraordinary ambassador for equine-assisted services, as our “go to” outreach horse.

Let’s recap Power’s accomplishments just the past 4 weeks….
🛻 Traveled to New York
🚓 Supported a workshop for the New York City Police Department
🇺🇸 Trail to Zero NYC
🏹 Somatic Intuitive Archery Clinic (groundwork & mounted archery)
🥇 Carrying Special Olympians to Gold medals
🇺🇸 Trail to Zero Chicago
🐴 Launch of fall riding session
🤠 Completed 4 Veteran riding groups at the Freedom Trail Ride
💙 Attended the Top of Illinois Veterans Stand Down in Rockford
🤍 Visit to Kenosha County Veteran Celebration
🎃 Visited the North Riverside Armory for their annual Trunk or Treat
❤️ Mission Massage demo horse
🤵 Attended the Oscar Mike Annual Ball
👟 Helped kickoff the Rockford Veterans Drop In Center Annual 5K
🚜 Visit to NIRW Veteran's Celebration at the Machine Shed

Next week he will aid in supporting our Changemakers program, Drill Team tryouts, head to Mission BBQ for their annual Veterans Day lunch, and another Veteran luncheon on Saturday!

Our pilot program held ahead of Trail to Zero went so well, so we decided to launch a weekly Mission Massage group that started today! Emma, a Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist, will be teaching small groups of Veterans this next block about the anatomy, how massage aids in recovery, and ways to enhance overall well-being for our herd. When this opportunity was released to the community, it filled quick, but if you are a Veteran in our program and interested in participating, contact Amber to get on our waitlist. We look forward to more educational and innovational opportunities such as this in the future. ❤️

U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, Ralph, and Oatie teamed up once again in Chicago on October 25,2025 for Trail to Zero. Last year, Ralph split the ride with a fellow Veteran riding the first 10 of the 20 miles on Oatie. This year, Ralph wanted to complete his own full 20 with Oatie, so he rode the last 10 miles, again sharing a ride with another Veteran. Ralph’s kindness and love for the horses is so special, but we’d love to share with you all about his strength. The day before the ride, Ralph was discharged from the hospital after receiving a chemotherapy treatment as part of his cancer fight, doctor’s release to participate in hand and determined to ride. We knew Oatie would take care of Ralph during this ride and every time we checked in on Ralph, that strength, gratitude for the mission, and happiness filled his words. You’re an inspiration, Ralph! ❤️
