November is American Diabetes Month.
Approximately 38.4 million Americans are affected by diabetes, sadly, roughly 22% of those cases go undiagnosed. The only way to live your best possible life with diabetes is through proper diagnosis and medication for management. Some key signs to look out for are excessive thirst, frequent urination, extreme fatigue, and blurred vision. If you experience these symptoms, make sure to mention it to your physician at your next visit, a diagnosis is the first step to improving your life, and preventing future complications.

‼️Locally and nationally cases of walking pneumonia are on the rise‼️
But there is no need to panic as walking pneumonia is a less severe form.
Most cases of pneumonia are viral and therefore are treated by rest , increase fluid intake and keeping the fever under control. For more information and tips, check out this blog from the AAP.

📞 Call us if you or your child’s infection is worsening or spreading.

☄️Fever that goes away and then returns after a few days

☄️Trouble breathing

☄️Increased lethargy and sleeping.

☄️Signs of infection elsewhere in the body: red, swollen joints, bone pain, neck stiffness, vomiting, or other new symptoms or signs.

Most cases of pneumonia follow a viral upper respiratory tract infection. Typically, the viruses that cause these infections (respiratory syncytial virus, influenza, parainfluenza, adenovirus) spread to the chest and produce pneumonia there. Pneumonia also can be caused by bacterial infections.

🌟 Exciting News about RSV vaccine🌟

🦠Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) can lead to serious respiratory issues, especially in young children and infant.

💫There’s actually a way to prevent RSV now!

👶Babies, pregnant women, and seniors can now be immunized against the yucky respiratory virus known as respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV.

💉Beyfortus is the immunization available for preventing severe RSV infections in babies and we’re excited to offer it in our office for our patients.

⭐️Your baby is eligible if:
- They are 8 months old or younger at the start of the RSV season (typically October), or if they are born during RSV season (October through March)
- Mom did not receive a maternal RSV season during pregnancy
- They are 8 to 19 months old and have certain high risk health conditions

⭐️Here are a few things to know:
- It’s safe to receive the Beyfortus immunization at the same time as other childhood immunizations.
- It’s likely okay to receive the Beyfortus immunization if your child has a mild viral infection but let our office know how your baby is feeling before their appointment.
- Most children only need one dose of Beyfortus to be protected against RSV.

We strongly recommend that all eligible babies receive Beyfortus as soon as they are able.

☎️Call us today to schedule your baby for immunization. 📞
