Slight scare yesterday, we woke up around 7am and Julie went to give Tegan her medicine. She stated she was hot and cold all night and her cheeks were flush. Julie let me know and I checked her temp and it was 99.5. Her discharge papers said 102 was the temp for concern. Tegan then told us she was having shortness of breath. Well that triggered a trip to Beauregard ER. They checked her out very well. Chest X-rays, blood test and CAT Scan. The concerns were pneumonia and blood clots. She was diagnosed with Sticky Lungs. Sent her home with a breathing treatment device and she is feeling better today.

Tegan got paroled at 8 am this morning. We have made it home from NOLA and she is resting. She is non load bearing on her legs for a couple weeks and has some splints on her lower legs for a couple weeks. She is glad to be back in her bed.

Game Day, we are at Manning’s Children’s Hospital already. In the waiting room to go back for pre-op. They will be removing the nails in her femurs, and cutting her achilles tendon to allow her heels to drop to the floor.

Update 6:55 am, they should be taking her back around 7:30. Because of her age she does not get the liquid Vercet “happy juice” anymore. It works but taste bad. She will get a Va**um before they take her back. They just gave it to her. Hopefully I’ll be able to still take my obligatory selfie with her.

8 am So they took her back to the OR at 7:30, she was not out yet so no selfie, maybe when she comes out. The surgeons scheduled to about 11:45 they said.

1130 am she is out of surgery and in recovery but we have not seen her yet. Dr Rivera met with us everything went as expected. All of the hardware came out with no issue. They put splints on her lower legs for the Achilles to heal a bit. She will be staying overnight in the hospital.

Made it to our room at about 12:30 she is sleeping well.

Well the Journey appears to be winding down. Monday Tegan again has surgery to remove her hardware from her legs and while she is under they will be performing a procedure to allow her heels to drop.

Tegan will be having her lower external fixators removed next week on Wednesday morning, 12/10/25.
She is excited and nervous. What a journey this part has been!!!
