My name is Robin and I am the instructor and creator of Wild Song Yoga and Meditation! I learned yoga and meditation instruction through Breathe for Change, which focuses on trauma-informed wellness courses for people of all ages, but especially children. I also have a master's in elementary education and worked as a behavior teacher in Barnstable and DY school districts for four years, where I ha

ve learned so much about what kids need to be successful and confident humans!

So often kids who are neurodivergent (ADHD, autism, PTSD) struggle in school or socially with self-regulation, social awareness and other SEL skills. These kinds of skills can be built through mindfulness practices and learning strategies to handle overstimulation, increase stamina and improve concentration. Wild Song classes will teach practical skills such as deep breathing, positive self-talk, goal setting, active listening, and teamwork skills. At the beginning of every class we will practice guided meditation and body awareness to become grounded prior to independent, paired, and whole group yoga poses. Some classes will even incorporate art, music, writing, and literature to keep everyone inspired. Students will move at their own pace and every effort will be made for safety and comfort. Supplies (yoga mats, blocks, blankets) will be provided as needed and available.

Meditation and yoga have been vital to easing my own anxiety and depression, symptoms often associated with neurodivergence. I have also been researching the connections between neurodivergence, mental illness, creativity, and deviant behavior. I truly believe the skills my classes teach will increase anyone's self-confidence and self-control. I hope your child can join me on a journey to finding and loving themselves and the world around them!
