Latest update on what we can expect for conditions as continues to move away.

The gusty winds are expected to end early afternoon with the steady wind continuing through tomorrow.

By far the biggest impact will be sea and surf conditions.

We will continue to monitor along with our partners and advise if there are any significant changes.

Big shout out to the Technical Division, thanks for keeping us on the air.

The Barnstable County Sheriff's Office's Technical Division programs, installs, maintains, and repairs emergency communication equipment for police and fire departments all over Cape Cod. The general public does not often see them, but they provide radio tech support to over 40 agencies in the county. A huge thank you to the radio team for keeping Barnstable County safe.

Smoke alarms are your first line of defense in a fire, but only if they’re working properly.

Do this to make sure they’re ready in case of an emergency:

✅ Test your smoke alarms monthly
✅ Replace batteries if needed
✅ Replace the alarm if older than 10 years

📅 Not sure how old your alarm is? Check the manufacture date on the back!

This last week the department was afforded the opportunity to train on a building that was donated by a local resident Phil Boire.

All four groups spent several hours each morning working on roof ventilation and ground ladders.

We appreciate opportunities like these as it is difficult to replicate these conditions in training without have buildings to work in.

HARWICH – The fire department is conducting firefighting training on a house located on Partridge Lane in East Harwich through Thursday. The...

Today was a special day at Harwich Fire.

While we’ve had a bunch of changes over the last couple of months, today we said goodbye to Bruce Young.

Bruce is a third generation Harwich Firefighter, with both his father and grandfather serving with the department from its beginning in 1929.

Bruce’s grandfather Fred was an Assistant Chief with the Department and in honor of the family legacy as well as all that Bruce has done for the town and department, today we promoted Bruce to Assistant Chief.

The crowd that was gathered is a testament to who Bruce is and what he has done. It was a special moment and one we were proud to do.

Best wishes Assistant Chief Young, thank you for your service and enjoy the next chapter.
