The Mashpee Fire Department battled a fire in a mobile home where the occupant tragically suffered fatal injuries. This was the fifth Massachusetts fire death since 10/1/25 where no working smoke alarms were found. PLEASE take a few minutes to be sure you and older family members, friends, and neighbors are protected by working alarms on every level of your home. Origin and cause are under investigation by Mashpee FD, Mashpee Police Department, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the State Fire Marshal's office, and Cape & Islands District Attorney Robert J Galibois: https://www.mass.gov/news/fatal-fire-under-investigation-in-mashpee
