When trying to conceive, many factors matter — and body weight is one that’s often overlooked.

Both low and high BMI ranges can influence hormone balance, ovulation, response to fertility medications, embryo implantation, and pregnancy outcomes. The encouraging news? Even a 5–10% change in body weight can significantly improve fertility in some patients.

At University Reproductive Associates, we take a comprehensive approach to care. That means evaluating every aspect of your health to create a treatment plan tailored to you.

If you have questions about how weight may be affecting your fertility, our team is here to help.

If you’ve been trying to conceive without success, one of the most important steps is understanding why.

Infertility can be caused by hormonal imbalances, structural issues within the uterus or fallopian tubes, or a combination of both. Identifying the true source is essential because treatment depends on an accurate diagnosis.

At University Reproductive Associates, our specialists perform comprehensive evaluations to determine whether hormones, anatomy, or both may be impacting your fertility. With the right answers, we can create a personalized treatment plan designed around you.

When you're trying to conceive, ovulation is one of the most important steps. But sometimes, even when a follicle matures, the egg is not released. This is called a luteinized unruptured follicle (LUF), and it can quietly interfere with your chances of pregnancy.

If you’ve been trying without success or suspect ovulatory issues, the specialists at University Reproductive Associates are here to help. Our team can evaluate for conditions like LUF and create a personalized treatment plan to support your path to pregnancy.
