A= Articulation
In speech-language pathology, ARTICULATION refers to the physical production of speech sounds with coordinated movements of the “articulators” (e.g., larynx, respiratory system, jaw, tongue, lips, cheeks, soft palate).
Here is a general chart that corresponds with age and speech sound development based on findings from McLeod & Crowe (2018).
There are several different categories of speech sound disorders, depending on differential diagnosis and presenting symptoms. I’ll break them down in upcoming posts!
