It is important when looking for a case manager that the case manager is on top of the periodic changes that occur within the Michigan Auto No Fault law as it relates to No-Fault medical and rehabilitation benefits. Today, a group of our case managers were at the MBIPC Boot Camp conference to learn about the most recent changes to the law. In attendance are Ambrose case managers, Liza Gamel, Dan McCune, Kathleen Bonhaus, and Amy Bartley.

You know Sherrie Magnusson is here before she has even arrived. She just has that kind of presence. Sherrie is our consummate advocate, think-outside-of-the-box, creative problem solving case manager at Ambrose. She meets our clients toughest challenges head on, doesn’t let anything fall through the cracks, and relentlessly pursues solutions. This is a case manager who does not like the word “no” and will work doggedly hard to turn a “no” into a “yes.” She also does this unique thing that you don’t see too often these days - she answers her phone. In fact, she will jump over furniture to get to her ringing phone. When we have a client who we know has some interesting barriers, we call on Sherrie and her leopard print shoes to kick those barriers out of the way so our client can experience success. Sherrie has been with Ambrose for eight years and she makes us aware of that every day. We extend a heartfelt thank you to Sherrie for her dedication, multiple talents and the flair she brings to client care and Ambrose!

If you want someone who is thorough, dependable, smart, resourceful, compassionate and not only goes the distance, but does it twice, you want Kathleen Bonhaus as your case manager. No Stone goes unturned with Kathleen. Since the day Kathleen became a case manager with Ambrose Care Management almost 14 years ago, she hasn’t stopped burning up the rug with her fast moving service to her clients. Kathleen has been working with people with traumatic brain injuries and catastrophic injuries for her whole entire professional life. We don’t talk years here, we talk decades. She knows catastrophic injuries and insurance upside down and in her sleep. She is a master at connecting people with the services they need. Her clients love her as she is their steady in their storms. Kathleen wears the crown for dedication, reliability, and loyalty to her clients and to Ambrose. I find myself thanking Kathleen daily. For today, thank you Kathleen!

If you are ever around a group of case managers from Ambrose Care Management and suddenly have the urge to start singing ancient inspirational folks songs, you are probably standing near Makaveli. Makaveli brings inspiration, hope, optimism, and limitless cheerleading to his clients. And the rest of us for that matter. His clients are always looking forward to his visits. Makaveli is our road warrior and will go to any corner of Michigan, through rain, sleet and snow (barefoot too if he needs to) to meet with clients and their teams. Makaveli knows no difficulty and smiles through the most challenging situations. He climbs the unclimbable, reaches the unreachable and achieves where others miserably fail. Sometimes nice guys finish first. Makaveli has made a big footprint with Ambrose in the 3 years he has been with us. Don’t let his cool, happy and calm demeanor fool you. Under that can be a very serious guy for ten minutes.

If you don’t hear anything, it is Deb Garcia walking up. Deb Garcia is a quiet riot. She is like a bomb. It sits there until it goes off. She doesn’t make a lot of noise but you know she has been there because the results of her work with her clients are profound. She quietly and tenaciously pushes beyond barriers for her clients, is a masterful mediator, a tireless advocate, and a thorough and detailed evaluator and assessor of client needs and resources. Deb has been with Ambrose Care Management for over 15 years and has been running on full octane for her clients since she walked in the door. If you want a petite case manager with the tenacity of a linebacker, Deb is your case manager. Thank you to Deb for all she does for Ambrose and her clients. Excuse me, I don’t hear anything. I think Deb just walked in.
