Today is World Down Syndrome Day, an awareness day where we can create a single global voice advocating for the rights, inclusion and well being of people with Down syndrome.

This year’s theme, Together Against Loneliness, reminds us that everyone deserves connection, friendship, and a place where they truly belong. Inclusion is not just about being invited into the room. It is about being welcomed, valued, and supported every single day. When we choose kindness, inclusion, and friendship, we help create a world where no one feels alone.

Wear your crazy socks. Start a conversation. Invite someone in. Because together, we are stronger, kinder, and more connected.

☘️ More Than Luck. It’s Whole-Person Wellness! This St. Patrick’s Day, take a moment to care for every part of you. True wellbeing isn’t just about one day or one feeling. It’s about mental, emotional, and physical health working together.

At BCCMHA, we believe in supporting the whole person. Whether it’s managing stress, building connections, or reaching out for support, every small step matters.

Check in with yourself. Reach out if you need to. And celebrate in ways that support your wellbeing. 💚

🧠 You’ve probably heard someone say they’re “left-brained” or “right-brained.” It’s a popular idea that personality or strengths come from one dominant side of the brain. In reality, our brains are designed to work together. Logic, creativity, emotions, and decision-making all rely on connections across the entire brain.

➡️ That’s an important reminder. Behavioral health isn’t just about thoughts or feelings alone. It’s about how the whole brain processes experiences, relationships, and stress.

During Brain Awareness Week, we celebrate the science that helps us better understand the brain and the care that supports people in living healthier, more balanced lives.

When someone is in crisis, they need care. Not a cell. ❤️

People with mental illness are overrepresented in our nation’s jails and prisons. Nearly two million bookings each year involve someone living with a mental health condition. Two in five incarcerated individuals have a history of mental illness. For youth, that number climbs to 70%.

This March, we join NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) in advocating for systems that prioritize treatment, diversion, and access to care during National Criminal Justice Month. Families deserve support. Communities deserve solutions. Help us take action today! https://bit.ly/3OUKZl7
