Wilcox Fitness

Wilcox Fitness Well-being Coach My Name is Elliot Wilcox, and I started Wilcox Fitness to help others improve their physical fitness to achieve personal goals.

After years as a personal trainer, I steered my career to encompass wellness. The everyday people that I helped didn't need intense exercise routines that consumed all their free time but instead benefited from a well-rounded program including other dimensions of wellness to improve their quality of life. Along with a goal-specific fitness routine, a person can be supported in many ways to make healthier lifestyle decisions that benefit different aspects of their wellbeing. It's the little daily things that build up over time and helps make us into the people we are today. It's been my pleasure to help the doers and leaders of today improve their wellness behaviors to align with their personal and professional goals.

First swim meet of the season with the new team in the books!

It’s going to be fun competing and see some progress during these winter months until triathlon season starts in June.

I definitely have to work on speed in the pool since triathlon has me so used to an open water mile… and then bike, and run also.

I experienced a lot of discomfort today, and am excited to make some progress now that I have some numbers on the board for this swim season.

Funny enough, I dropped time in all events from last years meet. And I thought I felt like crap! Haha

Events completed today:
500 free
200 free
100 free
50 free 100 fly

On to the next one ☝🏻

Bike is all ready for Age Group Nationals in two weeks; Olympic distance.

Hands down the best place to take your bike. Quality service ✅ Fast turnaround ✅ Affordable price.

Went for a 34 mile with 2,300ft elevation ride today, and the bike performed flawlessly. 👌🏼

I’ve taken my bike here until recently trying a new place, a popular place in the area too. Needless to say, the SCREWED IT UP 🤬.

Thankfully was able to get me back on the road with confidence in my bike.

Thanks guys!

Let’s film the last of 15 sets of stairs to show people how heavy I breathe on the way down 😂

1 minute rest between sets. ~50ft elevation on the way up with a ~750ft elevation total.

Starting to love these stairs.

Evening stair workout: done

This has become my new source of fun for running. I’ve recently taken a new job on top of personal training, so I’ve become short on extra available time to train.

With less time, this has meant more focus work and less garbage miles. To be honest I lack speed, or a faster cadence when I run. So these stairs provide a great workout to develop faster feet and also an awesome form of cardio that packs a punch in a short period of time.

It’s a blessing in disguise 🥸

Long runs are more fun with company, thanks Dad.

Training for triathlons can sometimes get lonely since there’s so much time invested. And, another drawback is that you realize not everyone is training for something.

A benefit I’ve found for my longer runs is having someone bike with me. It’s fun to have a conversation with someone along the way and to help control my heart rate through those conversations.

Yes, my dog is fun to run with and let’s be real, he’s super slow.

Open water swim today; meet my lane partner, Daniel! 🙋🏼‍♂️

Since starting masters at I’ve had the pleasure of swimming with Daniel. It has been nearly a decade since I’ve been pushed in the pool at practice.

I have swam with friends in other master groups, and also in open water, but it has been a fun experience getting outside of my comfort zone.

Unfortunately, this friendship will be brief. As he is moving near the end of June with his family for new opportunities. While I wish him the best, it’ll be hard to replace him.

Thank you Daniel for being so welcoming to the swim team and being a part of your lane 🙏🏼

Some easy miles with my favorite training partner 🐕

It’s always great to have some company while on an easy run. He may not talk much… or at all, but I sure talk to him lol.

Kind of a gloomy day with gray skies & 22mi/hr winds. But, the recent heat wave and the unusual high humidity with the amount of wind, made it a pleasant run outside.

Schaar’s Bluff to Spring Lake Park - West Trailhead 👌🏼 we did 6 miles total.

Can’t beat bike rides through the countryside on a beautiful day ☀️

One of the many benefits of living away from the city is accessible biking roads. A lot of which are nicely paved with big shoulders to ride; oh, did I mention the traffic is minimal?

Yes, you do have to watch out for gravel where gravel roads cross, or mud from tractors going in an out of the fields. And also yes, if there’s wind, there’s a s**t ton of it from building up over the fields 💨

Nonetheless, it’s a great place to get a workout in and have fun being outside.

See you out there 🚴🏼‍♂️

You see that? That’s sunshine hitting my face. What a fun day to be outside! ☀️

It started with a short early morning jog with a client, then shifted over to the track for my own workout where I ran into triathlon training friend, Big Lou. Did a fun HIIT workout there and then headed home.

In the afternoon I got on the bike for some country miles. First outdoor ride of the year. It was wobbly in aero position at first until I started to relax a bit. The headwind was strong in the country, it smelt like manure, and parts of the roads were muddy from tractors being busy for planting season.

Spring is here, and summer is coming quick! Bring it on

Look who has two thumbs and got outside today! 👍🏼👍🏼

51°F, 12 mi/h wind with overcast & clothing was on point. A fun run around town after some time spent indoors on the bike trainer.

Got the pain cave up to 78°F for some heated easy & HIIT on the bike. Going from that hot environment to outside was a challenge!

Now it’s going to rain for a few days straight and I’ll see you back inside!
