Every life is worth saving. Overdose can happen to anyone—family, friends, coworkers, neighbors. Raising awareness, reducing stigma, and learning how to respond can make a difference.
📌 Know the Facts:
In 2024, the United States continues to lose over 100,000 people each year to overdose.
The majority involve opioids such as fentanyl, often mixed with other substances.
Many overdoses are preventable with education, quick action, and compassion.
📌 Signs of Overdose:
Slow or no breathing
Blue or gray lips and fingertips
Unresponsive or unconscious
Gurgling or choking sounds
📌 How to Help:
Call 911 immediately.
Administer naloxone (Narcan) if available—it reverses opioid overdose.
Stay with the person until help arrives.
Provide rescue breathing/CPR if trained and needed.
📌 Prevention Matters:
Never use alone—have someone nearby.
Test substances when possible.
Carry naloxone; it’s safe and easy to use.
Encourage loved ones to seek support without shame.
💜 Together, we can break the stigma. Overdose is not a moral failing—it’s a public health crisis. By spreading awareness, learning the signs, and carrying naloxone, we can save lives and offer hope.
