The start of a new school year is often one of the most stressful transition periods for students, but this year with the added stress & uncertainty of COVID- we need more support than ever. Therapy with Jenny will be starting a new Teen Group called "School in times of COVID" starting in September, for a safely socially distanced IN-PERSON group, where teens could engage in processing thoughts, feelings and emotions regarding all things teens related. Like most of Jenny's groups, art and music activities will be introduced to help promote safe and emotionally immersive group therapy environment.

What hurt prevents you from living your best life? Is there someone specific in your life triggering you to feel badly about yourself? Is your inner voice telling you that you’re not good enough or that somehow you could be, or should be more? Is it all of the above?

Therapy can be a safe place for you to untangle these painful knots.

As children we are taught to be kind to others- (how kind we actually are to each other, is an entirely different topic and post).. but the point is, we’re often not taught to be kind to ourselves.

Being unkind doesn’t just refer to all the unkind things we tell ourselves.. “you’re ugly, you’re lazy, you’re not good enough.. no one loves you”, etc.. but actions/habits/familiar roles and patterns of taking care of someone else’s feelings and repressing our own truths, overworking taking care of people to distract ourselves from feeling and processing our own pain... staying in a relationship that perpetuate intergenerational trauma..

let’s list them together and see which ones we can start crossing out- because it’s NEVER TOO LATE to live the life you want to live. *xtherapist
