Luther Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Luther Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Luther Woods is a skilled nursing, here for respite and rehabilitation, facility nestled on nine acres

Formerly known as Luther Woods Convalescent Center, our private, independently-owned skilled nursing center and rehabilitation facility was built in 1976. Founded to provide quality long-term care for the elderly, our philosophy has evolved over time as more people wish to age at home. By establishing ourselves as a premier rehabilitation center, we strive to help our short-term residents achieve a quicker recovery from acute-care medical issues and our long-term residents maintain good health and an excellent quality of life.

A big thank you from the Luther Woods Activity Department goes out to Megan Bauerle from Premier Home Care & Caitlyn Potteiger from New Seasons in New Britain. They donated Christmas gift packages to over 10 residents at Luther Woods through their Cozy Collection Drive along with Silverleaf Partners. The gift bags were filled with a warm fuzzy blanket, socks, and snacks which were packed by the residents at New Seasons.

The Activity Staff would like to give a huge shout-out to our resident J Bell. J crocheted four Christmas trees for four prize baskets to raise funds for the Activity Department. Ebenezer Scrooge was visited by the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present & Future to help him feel the Christmas Spirit. At Luther Woods, we have Angie's Angels who help spread Christmas Joy to our residents. We have worked with this fine organization for three years. Each year, it has gotten bigger and better, serving more residents than the year before. This year, they provided for 25 of our residents. According to Angie Wehula, the head angel, her group loves to come deliver the gifts at Luther Woods because of all the love the residents and staff give back to them. Angie sent this little blurb and her organization.

“Because kindness changes lives.”

Angie’s Angels is a community-driven group dedicated to spreading compassion, hope, and support to those in need. Founded 16 years ago in loving memory of Angie’s mom, Anastasia, our mission began as a way to heal through helping others battling addiction and has grown into a commitment to serve many corners of our community. Through year-round drives, charitable walks, and hands-on outreach, we support individuals experiencing homelessness, children, seniors, animal shelters, and those impacted by addiction, diabetes, and other life challenges. We believe that kindness has the power to heal, connect, and transform lives — including our own.

Thank you!
Angie Wehlau

Thank you to Angie and all her angels. You certainly made my residents' day and made them feel extra special.
