It's only April and we've already supported:

Home birth
Hospital birth with epidural
Scheduled c-section
Unmedicated VBAC

Why share this? Because everyone deserves support. Doulas aren't exclusive to home birth. They aren't even exclusive to unmedicated birth.

Doulas are for everyone. Every birth can feel more positive with continous support during one of the most intense and vulnerable moments in life.

We have just a handful of birth openings for the remainder of 2026.

Fun fact: Our lovely birth doula is a committed community member who regularly volunteers when she isn't busy with clients, social work, and law school.

She spent Saturday bringing smiles to the faces of dozens of children at a community egg hunt.

Be sure to check out this sweet review from her client. When we say we provide continous labor support, we truly mean continous support ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™

"Can I give you a hug?"

Doula support isn't just birth support. It isn't just writing a birth plan.

Doula support is helping you process and feel safe and confident even when things have to pivot.

Doula support isn't just for moms. It isn't just for the person who is pregnant. It's for dads. It's for partners. It's for the person trying to comfort and support the mom when they aren't sure what to say or how to help.

Long before birth, the journey can get heavy. Our prenatals are more than birth planning, they're for confidence and support.

When we found ways to reframe and prepare for a different birth than originally hoped for, we went from anxiety to peace. From scared to confident. From fear to tears of release and an ask, "Can I give you a hug? I really appreciate you."

Doula support isn't just birth.

"Maria joined my husband and I after a series of unexpected events caused us to part ways with our original doula very close to the end of my pregnancy. I was in an extremely vulnerable place making this switch around 36 weeks pregnant. I was very nervous about pivoting so late in the game and worried I wouldn't have the opportunity to build a relationship with so little time remaining until birth.

Maria entered the situation with warmth, knowledge, kindness, understanding, attentiveness, humor, and a willingness to provide whatever I needed in order to feel comfortable with her both leading up to and during giving birth to my beautiful daughter.

I had a ridiculously long and difficult 40 hour labor. We called on Maria around hour 10 and she remained by our sides at our home, the birth center, and Bryn Mawr hospital after an unexpected transfer never leaving my side and providing exceptional support and encouragement for both my partner and I all throughout those 30 hours.

During the course of my labor she arrived prepared with a variety of tools and equipment to help make me comfortable, got food and drinks for me, provided hands on relief, talked through difficult decision making, and took many beautiful photos and videos that I will cherish for my whole life. Leading up to my birth she was available to me at the drop of a hat. She made herself available to me by call or text anytime of day or night, and we checked in once per week following every third trimester weekly appointment.

Even though my experience with her was short, she went so insanely above and beyond all my expectations. She helped me mentally and physically prepare and get through a marathon birth that felt like it would never end. If you are considering working with her to support your growing family, you absolutely will not be disappointed. We couldn't have asked for better. Thank you Maria! We will never forget you and you will always be a part of the most special and important moment of our lives." - E & R birth doula clients Aug 2026

A 2025 study published in AJOG adds powerful, up-to-date data showing associations between doula care and improved maternal and newborn outcomes.

Key Maternal Outcomes:

More vaginal births after cesarean (VBAC): For every 100 patients who received doula care, there were 15 to 34 additional VBACs compared with those without doula care.

Higher postpartum follow-up attendance: 5 to 6 more per 100 received postpartum office visits.

Key Neonatal / Infant Outcomes

Increased exclusive breastfeeding rates: Babies whose families had doula support were more likely to breastfeed exclusively.

Fewer preterm births (and early preterm births): Doula-supported births showed a reduction in preterm birth rates.

In short, the study links doula care with improvements in birth outcomes โ€” across birth mode (more VBACs), infant health (less prematurity), and early infant care (breastfeeding, postpartum follow-up).

NEXT CLASS: FEB 15th

Our classes are designed to equip parents to have a positive birthing experience whether they plan to give birth at a hospital, in a birth center, or have a home birth.

As a childbirth educator, Iโ€™ve supported families with every type of birth imaginable. There is no right or wrong way to give birth!

As a birther myself, Iโ€™ve had home, hospital, and birth center births. Iโ€™ve had unmedicated low risk births, a high-risk hospital birth, an emergency c-section birth, and a medically necessary induced VBAC. Iโ€™ve taken my children home after just four hours, after three days, and even after extended NICU stays.

Whatever the plan, whatever the outcome, Iโ€™m here to educate and support as a childbirth educator and doula.

Our childbirth classes cover:

Prenatal wellness, nutrition and exercise
Comfort measures for labor
Relaxation techniques
Options for birth
Avoiding unnecessary c-section
C-Section Births
Postpartum wellness
Breastfeeding
Basic newborn behavior
And more!

Birth is a complex hormonal process. The good news is, we do not need to stress about making the process happen. However, when we understand the hormones involved, we can make choices that help best facilitate our release of hormones.

Choosing your birth team, any visitor plans, and where you will give birth can all impact your hormones. Learn about the basic hormonal process to make informed decisions about your birth.

Birth can be unpredictable. But birth support doesn't have to be.

One location change. Three midwives. Two physicians. Several incredible nurses.

One doula. One doula at home. One doula at the hospital. One doula through shift change. One doula through it all.

I have just one opening for February and one for late January. March is booked but EDD dependent might have wiggle room. Booked April. No August availability.
