Knee buckling when going down stairs or curbs is a risk to your safety! Falls can result in further injury that can impact your ability to perform your daily tasks.
If you have tried traditional physical therapy in the past and found it to be too painful, aquatic therapy may be the right choice for you. A warm aquatic environment paired with the buoyancy of water decreases the load on your joints with exercise. We find that people who struggle with movement on land are able to move freely in the water with decreased pain.
Increasing your pain-free joint mobility and strengthening your legs in the water can translate to decreased pain with movement on land. If you or someone you know has knee pain with buckling, schedule a free consult with a Doctor of Physical Therapy to see if Aquatic PT is the right choice for you.

In this video, Dr. Jada, one of our Pelvic Health PT's, explains what a Kegel is and why they are not indicated for everyone. Kegels are an exercise to help strengthen the pelvic floor muscles if they are weak. However, not all pelvic floor dysfunction symptoms are caused by weak muscles. Kegels are also not the only way to strengthen pelvic floor muscles. It is important to have an assessment by a pelvic floor physical therapist prior to engaging in pelvic floor muscle strengthening exercises. If you have any questions, give us a call. We offer free consultations with our Doctors of Physical Therapy to determine if PT is right for you! (215) 997-9898
