“Around 1 in 25 hospital patients has at least one infection associated with healthcare.”

Furthermore, “floors in patient rooms were often contaminated with MRSA, vancomycin-resistant enterococci, and C. difficile, with C. difficile being "the most frequently recovered pathogen”.

Floors in the hospital setting are often not given the attention they deserve in regards to hospital acquired infections, and The Shield is one of the major facets that those wheelchair bound in the hospital setting can use to cut down there risk of acquiring one of these drug resistant organisms!

Because they are not frequently touched surfaces, hospital floors are often excluded from efforts to improve disinfection. New research now questions this.
