One important thing is having them perform activities that require using their eyes and hands together. Movement activities help to improve visual skills required for placement and spacing when writing. Movement also helps to prepare attention for learning. Here are a few simple ways to help your child grow their communication skills:

πŸ“– Read daily – Use books with rhyme and repetition, and let your child predict what happens next or help "tell" the story.

Sensory integration is how the brain organizes and responds to information from our sensesβ€”vision, hearing, touch (tactile), smell, taste, and the lesser-known senses: Vestibular (balance and head position) and Proprioception (body awareness from muscles and joints).

Sometimes, a child's brain has trouble processing this inputβ€”this is called Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD). You might notice signs like:

πŸ”Ή Picky eating
πŸ”Ή Sensitivity to noise or light
πŸ”Ή Difficulty with balance or coordination
πŸ”Ή Preference for certain fabrics or clothing
πŸ”Ή Frequent meltdowns with no clear cause
