We’re excited to introduce our final pre-conference workshop, Early Intervention: Where Workforce, Healthcare, and Education Intersect in Mississippi! 👶🏽📚🩺✨

This dynamic workshop focuses on inclusive early intervention for young children with developmental disorders. 💙

Participants will explore the critical role of interprofessional collaboration among healthcare providers, therapists, case managers, and early childhood educators in supporting children from birth to age three. 🤝🧠 You’ll learn how screening, assessment, referral, and intervention services can be better coordinated and integrated into a child’s natural learning environment, especially early childcare settings. 🏫📊

With Mississippi being a high-need, low-resource state, this session will also highlight the state’s First Steps program and how it bridges public health and public education to keep families informed, engaged, and supported during this crucial stage of development. 🌱💬❤️

We’re excited to introduce our second Pre-Conference Workshop: STORK: Obstetric and Neonatal Emergency Training.

This responds to a real and urgent need: Mississippi has the highest infant mortality and the second highest maternal mortality rates in the nation, with many counties lacking access to maternity care.

STORK brings hands-on, no-cost training directly to rural hospitals and first responders who are often the only support for mothers and babies in emergencies.

This workshop will equip you with practical skills, real-life scenarios, and essential tools to recognize and manage obstetric and neonatal emergencies, because every mother and baby deserves a safe start.
