PRVO Head Start is proud to celebrate one of our shining stars, who has been recognized as Student of the Month at Hawkins Elementary School! 🌟

E’Shon’s achievement is a wonderful reflection of the dedication and hard work he brings to the classroom each day. His success also highlights the power of collaboration between PRVO (Pearl River Valley Opportunity) Head Start and Hattiesburg Public Schools (HPS) through the Hattiesburg Early Learning Collaborative (HELC).

A special shoutout to his amazing teachers, Demetrius Knight and Velma Gowdy, for their commitment to nurturing excellence in our young learners.

On Thursday, October 2nd, our Collaborative teachers Ms. Stovall and Ms. Barnes hosted a special Male Involvement Day. After reading The Little Red Hen, the children rolled up their sleeves and made their very own pizzas with the help of Mr. Michael. 👨‍🍳✨

After Fall Break, our Collaborative teachers Ms. Stovall and Ms. Barnes brought some hands-on fun to the classroom! The children had a blast making fresh lemonade — learning, laughing, and enjoying the fruits of their labor. 💛

A few weeks ago, PRVO Head Start representatives traveled to the northeast region to share recruitment, enrollment, and job fair flyers at Head Start centers and throughout the community.

Along the way, they connected with current and former staff, as well as with community members.

🚑✨ Exploring Emergency Care at CH Johnson Head Start/Early Head Start! 🧒👩‍⚕️

To wrap up an exciting week, we welcomed Triple A Ambulance to our center! The children had a hands-on opportunity to explore the ambulance and learn all about the important role EMTs play in helping people feel better when they’re sick.
