Our Story

The USM Behavioral Health Clinic is the service, training, and research center of the School of Psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi. We specialize in therapies that are supported by research (i.e., empirically-supported therapies).

We offer services for children, adolescents and adults. We serve community members and USM-students, faculty, and staff. Our services include individual, child, family, couples and group therapy, comprehensive diagnostic evaluations/ assessments, consultation in various areas, including school and Head Start consultation, parent training, and select pre-employment screenings/evaluations.

The USM Behavioral Health Clinic mission is to increase access to quality mental health care by providing affordable, evidence-based services to children, adolescents, adults, USM college students, in South Mississippi; training competent and ethical psychologists and mental health counselors in evidenced-based best practice; and contributing to the advancement of cutting-edge research.

Our training clinic is committed to providing culturally-sensitive care for all members of our community. Consistent with this principle, we do not discriminate on the basis of age, gender, gender identity, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, socioeconomic status, or any other status protected under applicable federal, state, or local law, in the services we provide.
