The Dr. Lynn Cook Hartwig Public Health Program invites you to the 2026 Public Health Symposium, taking place April 8–9 at the Trent Lott National Center in recognition of National Public Health Week. This year’s theme, Ready, Set, Action, brings together students, faculty, professionals, and community members for meaningful conversations and real-world solutions that impact public health across Mississippi.
We kick things off on Wednesday, April 8 from 1 pm to 4 pm with a dynamic preconference workshop featuring a welcome from Dean Charleen McNeill and an interactive self-defense training led by Team 144. Come dressed comfortably and ready to learn practical techniques designed to keep our world-changers safe.
The symposium continues Thursday, April 9 from 9 am to 3 pm with a full day of programming including poster sessions, exhibits, and engaging discussions. Highlights include a plenary session on the State of Public Health Legislation in Mississippi, breakout sessions on innovative research and community-based programs, and an inspiring keynote speaker. Lunch will be provided, and attendance is free.
Whether you are looking to learn, connect, present, or showcase your work, there is a place for you at this year’s symposium.
