Affordable Care Act enhanced insurance premium assistance for certain Marketplace enrollees will expire at the end of this year. On average, monthly premiums for certain individuals will more than double, and premiums for families will nearly double. It’s an increase most cannot afford, and many will become uninsured.

More uninsured patients mean a larger financial strain on hospitals, which affects their stability, increases ER wait times, and impacts service delivery. Our legislators cannot let this burden befall our Hudson Valley hospitals and communities.

Once Congress sets those Medicaid cuts in motion there is no stopping the damage.

Medicaid enrollee or not, we will all feel the effects of longer wait times in ERs and doc offices, higher insurance costs, service reductions and closures, and loss of local jobs. Tell your members of Congress to NOT let the first domino fall.
