Last night, I decided to read my own health insurance policy... and let me tell you, it was like trying to decipher an ancient language!

By the end, I felt like I needed mental health coverage just to understand it!

On a serious note, it reminded me why I do what I do.

Let’s break down the 3 most common types of health plan networks:

🔹 HMO (Health Maintenance Organization)
Must stay in-network
Requires referrals for specialists
Typically lower premiums

🔹 EPO (Exclusive Provider Organization)
Must stay in-network
No referrals needed, for most plans*
More flexibility than HMO, but not as much as PPO

🔹 PPO (Preferred Provider Organization)
In-network and out-of-network access
No referrals needed
Higher flexibility, typically higher premiums
