What is Sensory Integration?
Sensory Integration is the process by which we receive information through our senses, organize this information, and use it to participate in everyday activities.

What is Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD)?
Sensory Processing Disorder is a condition in which the brain has trouble receiving and responding to information that comes in through the senses. Sensory information serves as an important foundation for adaptive behaviors such as self-control, learning, and the ability to organize. Students with SPD may have trouble with learning, appropriate behaviors, focusing, and engaging in everyday activities!

The global pandemic has unfortunately had a negative effect on children's ability to self-regulate their bodies and emotions.
This could be due to staying at home to often or all the time, decreased socialization, wearing protective equipment, overhearing discussion of COVID 19, etc.

Here at Holistic Cognitive Consultants our Board Certified Occupational Therapist works diligently with families to discuss any sensory concerns they may have and create a unique and individualized treatment plan for home or school.

At R&R we value the mental health and physical health and safety of our patients and their family members.
