We had a great time presenting along with the Lawrence Partnership for Transition to Employment (LPTE) at the Massachusetts APSE Conference yesterday. The session was called “Listening to Families: Insights from a Community-Led Survey about the Transition to Employment". 👩‍🎓👨‍🎓

To better understand families’ perspectives, a survey for families of students with disabilities in Lawrence Public Schools was given. The results revealed strong family support needs for post-school employment, varied engagement in the IEP process, and geographic disparities in communication. The presentation shared the survey process, key findings, and how schools, service providers, and families are using this information to enhance family engagement and improve transition outcomes for youth with disabilities in Lawrence.
