Overdose is preventable. Awareness is powerful. Today, we remember those we’ve lost and fight to prevent future loss. August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day, a day to honor lives cut short, support those affected, and take action to prevent overdose deaths. Every 5 minutes, someone in the U.S. dies from a drug overdose - often unknowingly exposed to fentanyl. Most overdose deaths involve opioids like fentanyl, often unknowingly. Education, access to naloxone, and open conversations can stop tragedy before it starts.

✅ What you can do:
• Learn the signs of overdose
• Carry naloxone (Narcan)- it reverses opioid overdose
• Use fentanyl test strips
• Share trusted resources
• Support harm reduction programs
• End the stigma
