I’m building a case to display the 100+ unit challenge coins I accumulated over the years and here’s the base. My first stab at inlay work. I used 1/4 inch black, maple, and mahogany banded block inlay with a carpathian cherry burl veneer inset.

The reason there are two bands of inlay is because it needs to be “Two Scoops of Hooah”....it’s not that I miscalculated any dimensions or anything like that.

At least that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. 😉

This set of eight pens are for a group of great ladies that do in-home nurse care. I learn as I go and these are a bit different than previous designs as the cap is magnetic and attaches to the back when you want to write with it. Next up is a pen for a Lieutenant JG serving in the U.S. Navy.

This is a new design I was making today for a display piece, however; it is now going to a Fire Chief in West Virginia. I really like the red line axe embossed on a subdued American Flag.

A dear friend of the family asked me to make her a pen with Honduran Rosewood. It took awhile to come in but this wood is amazing. It’s a very strong wood which I could tell when I trued each side for the lathe before turning.

Once finished, I love the contrast my friend picked with the .30 caliber bullet on chrome complemented by this unique wood. Really cool.

I’d love your input for my next pen, a .30 caliber round in a lever action pen with an antique brass finish.

From left to right are: oak - cherry - staple - walnut. I can also go with a lighter or darker wood.

What do you all think??? 🤔 Deer antler is also an option but I’ve done a bunch of those. Maybe a 2nd Amendment themed pen or something else.

Here’s a little gift for our Pastor and his wife who have been keeping the Sunday church service going through Facebook Live during the pandemic. It has brought a bit of normal into the week even with watching from home and has made a big difference to a lot of folks.

It’s going to be delivered tomorrow before the service, so don’t spoil the surprise 😉
