🌟 Community Engagement! 🌟

Lackawaxen EMS was proud to participate in the Wayne Memorial Family Health Centers' Unity in the Community Health & Wellness Event.

We had the opportunity to speak with many community members about Stop the Bleed and Hands-Only CPR — two simple but critical skills that can help save lives. 🚑🩺

The turnout was fantastic, the weather was perfect, and we were honored to be part of such a great event.

Thank you to Wayne Memorial for inviting us and for hosting such an important community resource! 💙

Join us today at this great event.

🚑 Stronger Together: Pike County AEMT Response Program 🚑

In November 2024, Pike County took a major step forward in emergency medical care with the launch of the AEMT Response Program — and the results are already saving lives.

Thanks to Lackawaxen EMS, Delaware Township EMS, and Port Jervis EMS, specially trained Advanced EMTs (AEMTs) are now responding across Pike County whenever paramedics are unavailable. These AEMTs can initiate critical advanced life support interventions — including airway management, IV access, and lifesaving medications — ensuring patients get the care they need without delay.

This countywide collaboration fills crucial gaps during paramedic shortages, especially in our rural and hard-to-reach areas. It’s about faster response times, stronger care, and a commitment to never leaving a call unanswered.

Is your community participating? If not, maybe it should be. This program is a proven model of cooperation, training, and results — and every resident deserves access to the best care possible when minutes matter.

We thank our dedicated EMS professionals for stepping up and continuing to raise the standard of care.

From Saving Lives in the Field to Healing Hands at the Bedside

After years of running calls side by side as EMT partners, Grace and Eric just hit a huge milestone; they just graduated nursing school! 🎓💉

From the back of an ambulance to the halls of a hospital, this journey has been one wild ride. Long shifts, tougher patients, and endless study nights.

What started as a partners in the field became a friendship, a team, and now, a pair of proud new soon to be RNs ready to take on the next chapter of their careers. With their now intense depth of knowledge, they will be able to apply it to taking care of our residents.

Here’s to the journey, the growth, and every life they’ve touched along the way. Congratulations, Nurse Grace & Nurse Eric! 🏥🚨

Lackawaxen EMS is proud to see local high school students gaining real-world experience through live burn and rehab training, as featured in this WNEP story.

As EMS and fire agencies across the region face staffing shortages, programs like these are helping fill critical gaps—empowering the next generation to step up and serve their communities.

We’re excited to see these students rise to the challenge and hope to welcome some of them into our ranks in the future.

Newswatch 16's Emily Kress shows us the action of a live burn training that will get high school students one step closer to becoming state certified.

While standing by at the annual Two Rivers Marathon Race, we had some special visitors stop by!

Our very own EMT, Tom Protsko, and his wife Rebecca both participated in the race. Tom took 2nd place in his age group, and Rebecca earned 5th place in hers—an amazing accomplishment for both!

Congratulations to Tom and Rebecca on your impressive finishes!
