When the weather didn’t cooperate for our fishing trip, we swapped our plans for a spontaneous Mystery Bus Ride!
We explored local crop fields, cruised through the beautiful lakes area, and topped it all off with a sweet stop at The Cormorant Store for ice cream. A fun adventure, even without the fishing poles!

Snakes aren’t usually our favorite visitors—but this one’s an exception!
We had a great time creating our colorful “rock snake,” now lounging happily on the patio. Each painted rock adds a unique touch, and we’d love for you to join in! If you’re feeling creative or want to spread a little positivity, paint a rock and help our snake grow, one cheerful segment at a time.

UPDATE ON WADDLES....Our long-awaited clutch of duck eggs finally hatched around July 3rd. True to her secretive nature, Waddles managed to hatch her brood quietly and slip away with her ducklings before anyone could catch a glimpse. All that remained were a few cracked eggshells as evidence. It was such a joy to watch her patiently tend to her nest in the weeks leading up to their hatching.

In the spirit of patriotism, residents have come together to craft a large American flag entirely out of paper chains. The 4th of July is coming up fast and we're ready!
The colorful paper chain flag, made with red, white, and blue links, serves as a vibrant symbol of unity and national pride. It's not just a festive decoration—it's also a reminder of the creativity and teamwork that bring people together during this patriotic holiday.

The votes are tallied and we've officially named our duck Waddles!
Waddles the wood duck likes our patio as much as we do so she decided to lay a clutch of eggs in the bushes. Stay tuned as we await the miracle of new life!
