Upon completion of his surgical residency, Dr. Kur joined the medical staff at Montefiore Medical Center as a Clinical Instructor.

Dr. Benjamin Kur has been practicing oral surgery for 10 years and is a sought-after expert in innovations in the field. A graduate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center in 2006, Dr. Kur received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from SUNY Stony Brook in 2002, and a BA at The University of Michigan in 1996. Dr. Kur is also a Faculty Associate Professor of Surgery at New York Medical College/ Westchester Medical Center, Staff Surgeon at Phelps Memorial Hospital, Montefiore Medical Center and LIJ/NJUH. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. Dr. Kur resides on the board of American College of Maxillofacial Surgeons and serves as Regent. Dr. Kur’s interests lie in the reconstruction of the jaws for implant placement, maxillofacial trauma, pediatric maxillofacial surgery and corrective jaw surgery. He frequently speaks on the topic of advances in oral surgery at major surgery conventions. A passionate outdoorsman, Dr. Kur enjoys the patient delicacy of fly fishing, and the active focus of yoga. He resides in Westchester County with his family. Dr Kur is board-certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

This happens because as wisdom teeth develop, the roots become longer and the jaw bone more dense.
