International Childhood Cancer Day is February 15. It’s a day to spread awareness about the kind of childhood cancers, their diagnosis and treatment. In high income countries, where comprehensive services are widely available, more than 80% of children with cancer are cured. This is not the case in low to middle income countries where lack of awareness leads to delayed diagnosis and decreased survival 🎗🎗🎗

Children and adults from around the country travel to Westchester Medical Center to receive these advanced cellular therapies for curative treatments. From caregiver and patient to becoming friends and volunteers, this episode showcases what Christina Barbieri calls a “full-circle moment”. ⁠

When Kelly was receiving treatment at the Westchester Medical Center - Infusion Center, she struck up a life-long friendship with Christina, a Registered Nurse. Their paths crossed once again when they both volunteered for our Walk for Wishes walkathon, and in this episode, they share what keeps bringing them back to Make-A-Wish.
