Key members of our Cystic Fibrosis Center, Armando Ramirez, Dr. Elizabeth DeLariva-Velasco, and Mirando Cristofaro attended the annual TDN meeting in Denver, Colorado. This is a meeting where research coordinators and Principal Investigators review data from CF studies that have been completed, attend workshops, and view presentations that motivate all sites to keep pushing for a future cure. Dr. Delariva-Velasco had the chance to experience a sweat test! We commend them for their dedication to improving the lives of our patients with cystic fibrosis.

Several members of the Children’s Environmental Center of the Hudson Valley attended the annual NYSCHECK meeting this week. This meeting focuses on pediatric environmental health, networking, and research, showcasing updates from its regional centers across the state. Dr. Dozor and Dr. Krishnan were recognized for their commitment to children’s environmental health over many years. Dr. Christy Kim gave an informative presentation on Radon, highlighting research she lead. Dr. Amy Brown presented our center highlights. Caitlin Lennon, our environmental scholar presented her project on connecting asthma patients with environmental resources. She participated in a “Nailed It” session along with Addison Forgit where they decorated cupcakes and used induction stoves. It was a productive and enjoyable meeting.

Our outstanding second year fellow Dr. Tessa Scheckelhoff is leading rounds this morning and educating a group of residents and a medical student at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital. Tessa is dedicated to sharing her expertise with the medical team. She is an exceptional role model and a valuable asset to our division. We feel fortunate to have her!

Dr. Elizabeth DeLariva-Velasco (Director of the Affiliate Cystic Fibrosis Center Program of the Hudson Valley) and Diane Lindsay-Adler (Registered Dietitian) attended the CFF Greater NY chapter annual meeting and awards program on March 11th in New York City. We congratulate them for their hard work and dedication in taking care of our patients with Cystic Fibrosis.

Today the Children’s Environmental Center of the Hudson Valley and BCHP Pulmonology group met with NY state Senator Pete Harckham in our Bradhurst office. It was a productive meeting with a packed room, collaborating on ways to improve the environment of children in the Hudson Valley. Thank you for your time and dedication to children, we look forward to working with you in the future.

We're proud to share our team's impressive presence at the NACFC national conference in Seattle! The Poughkeepsie CF affiliate team led by Dr. Suzette Gjonaj received the Annual QI award 2024-2025, a testament to their outstanding work. Dr. Gjonaj delivered a captivating presentation at Physician Grand Rounds, showcasing a complex case of headaches in a patient with acute B cell lymphocytic lymphoma and cystic fibrosis. Dr. Shilpa Sood co-chaired a session on liver disease, highlighting our team's expertise. Congratulations to all on their remarkable achievements!
