Two men accused of fatally beating a Redondo Beach bar bouncer were ordered today to stand trial.
After a preliminary hearing, Torrance Superior Court Judge Hector M. Guzman found sufficient evidence for Francisco "Frank" Cobarruvias Jr., 35, of Redondo Beach, and Rene Anthony Avina, 23, of Carson, to be tried for murder.
The two defendants allegedly attacked Terie Colecchi, a bouncer at Pats II Cocktails at 1312 S. Pacific Coast Highway, just before closing time on June 2. Colecchi, 49, of Torrance, died at a hospital from his injuries.
Cobarruvias was being held at the Men's Central Jail in Los Angeles in lieu of $2 million bail, while Avina was being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
They are due back in court for arraignment July 23.
