Today, on National Adoption Day, we’re honored to share a glimpse of Allie’s journey. When she came to Open Arms facing an unexpected pregnancy, she found a safe, compassionate space to explore her options. Through the support of our team—and the generosity of partners like you—she was empowered to make a thoughtful, courageous adoption plan for her son.

Allie’s story reflects the heart of this ministry: creating space for hope, walking with individuals in hard moments, and supporting life-affirming decisions rooted in love.

Welcome Gary Ball, our new Men's Program Manager!

Gary first joined Open Arms as one of the pastors who regularly volunteers at the clinic, offering encouragement and support to our clients and team. His wife, Jan, also serves faithfully as our Grief and Loss Counselor. Together, they have two wonderful adult children, Kristin and Conrad.

Having grown up all over the world as a military child, Gary didn’t live in the United States until age 13. When he’s not serving at Open Arms, you can often find him on the water, racing his sailboat with the Lake Pend Oreille Yacht Club in Bayview—an experience he describes as “a bunch of bearded, flannel-wearing sailboat owners.”

Gary’s heart is to follow God’s leading in every area of life, including his work and family. That same obedience to the Lord led him to accept the call to lead our new Men’s Program at Open Arms. He is passionate about helping men step into their roles as fathers and leaders, supporting families, and ultimately seeing the cycle of crisis pregnancies broken through healthy, loving relationships and strong families.

In our Men’s Ministry at Open Arms Real Choices Clinic, we’ve seen lives change in ways only God can orchestrate. One recent story from one of our male mentors reminds us why compassionate, Christ-centered support is so important.

His experience with a client named *Big Mack challenged, stretched, and encouraged our team in powerful ways — revealing how God is always at work, even in the hardest circumstances.
