Do you have a pulse on your front desk? Often times, your billing team can uncover a variety of processes that begin at the front desk and effect your bottom line. Here are a couple important ones to check for:

- Is your front desk gathering (and inputting) accurate patient demographics? An incorrect address results in returned statements, equaling delayed payment, wasted time tracking down the correct information, and extra postage costs.

- Is your front desk collecting co-pays at the time of service? If you don't already have a policy in place, this is an important one to implement, and if you do, make sure it is being enforced. As co-pays have become a larger portion of a practice’s revenue, ensuring your practice collects co-pays up front has become vital.
