We LOVEEEEEEE baby wearing at Rooted 🤗
Dr. Alison, Dr. Ashli AND Dr. Joe all wear their babes often in practice. However, it is super important that if your babe is on your front or back, that they are in a correct position for their spinal and hip development.
The correct position? ➡️ “M” Position
Whether your kiddo is on your front or back, be sure their knees are ABOVE their hips. This is huge for development and alignment of their hips, as well as for their spine.
And about baby facing in or out…from a developmental perspective it is actually NOT recommended that baby ever faces out. Ever. We know that sounds kinda crazy, but when babe faces out there’s a much higher strain on their little bodies. That being said, we believe in balance 😎 If you must, face your little one out, wait until they are 9 months at least, and do it in short stints.
