The American Birkebeiner, known collectively as The Birkie, is held annually in February in Hayward Wisconsin. The race was founded in 1973 and has grown to become North America’s largest cross country ski race and the third largest in the world. Skiers from around the world come to the small town in Hayward, Wisconsin to compete in the 50 km (31 mile) race through the beautiful Wisconsin trails. We are so proud of Dr. Tom for the 45 years he has completed this race. His dedication is truly admired. This year‘s race is on February 22.
