Happy Nurse’s Week to Robin Barrett, RN! 🩺💙

Robin has been part of the DSNWK team since October 2017, and we are so grateful for the compassion and care she brings each day.

Here are a few fun facts you may not know about Robin:
⛅ She originally studied to become a meteorologist before realizing nursing was her true calling
🏅 She was a college athlete
👂 She can wiggle her ears and move the top of her head so it looks like she’s wearing a wig… ask her to show you next time you see her!

This week, we celebrate the drivers, staff, and transportation services that help keep our communities connected every day. Reliable transportation means access to work, appointments, activities, independence, and opportunity for so many of the people we serve.

Kerri joined DSNWK in January 2025, and we are so thankful for the care and compassion she brings to those we serve every day.

Here are a few fun facts about Kerri:
🥤 She can’t live without Mt. Dew, gum, and music, especially 80s hits
🏖️ Her favorite vacation destination is Anna Maria Island, Florida
🐍 She has a very strong dislike for snakes
❤️ Her life tip: “Never leave without telling people that you love them!”

Happy Nurse’s Week to Dilene Reinhardt, LPN! 🩺💙

Dilene has been part of the DSNWK family for 19 years, and we are so grateful for her dedication and compassionate care.

Here are a few fun facts you may not know about Dilene:
🚛 She has her CDL license and used to haul asphalt, including work on I-70 from Russell to Salina
🏔️ She also lived in Utah and helped prepare roads for the 2002 Olympics

Courtney joined DSNWK in July 2025 and has already made a wonderful impact through her compassionate care and commitment to excellence.

A few fun facts about Courtney:
✨ She can’t live without her family, her dogs Gamora & Tator, and documentaries
🎨 In her free time, she enjoys baking and painting
📏 Growing up, her nickname was “Short” or “Court Short” because all of her siblings are over 6 feet tall!

DSNWK recognizes Russell Police Department

Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas (DSNWK) recognized the Russell Police Department with its first ever Community Champion Spotlight. Pioneer Developmental Center, 15 N. Maple in Russell, presented Scott McAdoo with a special certificate and basket of goodies in appreciation of their continued relationship with the individuals served at the center.

The Community Champion Spotlight was created through a DSNWK Innovation Team with the goal of recognizing community members across the area who have shown DSNWK exceptional support. Russell Police Department, specifically Officer McAdoo, has been instrumental in building a relationship between persons served at the Police Department, Sheriff’s Department, and EMS crews in Russell.

“We hope to shine a light on the people and partners who strengthen the communities we serve, " states Steve Keil, DSNWK Director of Development. “Many local businesses, individuals, and organizations go the extra mile to support our mission and we want to celebrate the ones who make a real difference.”
