Call to action. It is easy, filled out for you. Now is the time to make your voice heard! The Radiology Outpatient Ordering Transmission (ROOT) Act is important legislation that will make our patients safer. We need your help to gain more support in the U.S. Senate!

This legislation will reduce the ever-increasing volume of imaging studies that are ordered and ensure that only appropriate imaging examinations are performed. It will do this by requiring clinicians to consult evidence-based, physician-developed clinical guidelines at the point of ordering.

By reducing the number of inappropriate examinations ordered, this legislation will ensure patients receive the most appropriate test for their condition, thus improving diagnostic accuracy while eliminating radiation exposure for every patient who does not require scanning and lightening radiologic technologists' workload by reducing the number of unnecessary imaging examinations performed.
