Its a beautiful day out and we got the barn stalls cleaned this morning, so now it's time for exercise. The sorrel(or chestnut) is Waylon, he's a half blood....the other participant is Victor-E, he's the Clydesdale. These two had a visit to the vet Thurs and are officially geldings. So part of their rehab is walking for 15-20 min 2 times a day. I give thanks to Polaris!! Makes the walk a breeze for me!! Two inches of easy soaking rain is gonna help heal our pastures and help the grass for spring time. Enjoy the beautiful blessings of fall. Cheers...

Supper time and these 4 have to eat in a special standing "order" and we have to give a little "supervision"....otherwise the big pig, John, gets the most. The order is John, Valor, Willie, and Roberta. John, Valor and Willie get along, but Willie and John don't and neither do Roberta, Valor and John. John's the oldest, the biggest and the boss!! Beautiful evening to be outside this fall. Weekend might be wetland cool. May the Lord bless you in all weather. Cheers...

Sooo, I'm a little slow on posting, but.... last Sunday, Oct. 12, we were giving rides at the Fall Festival in LaCrosse, KS. What a beautiful evening for carriage rides, games, snacks, and petting zoo. Just a beautiful community gathering. Fall is such a neat time of year, with warm days, cool evenings, awesome colors, and delicious smells. Find a Fall Festival and go enjoy...even if you don't know anyone, put a smile on your face and strike up a friendly conversation. May the Lord bless you this fall. Cheers

Another beautiful day in October. The East pasture horses were at the gate so I had to see how photogenic they would be. John and Valor are up, with Roberta Rae and Willie in the back eating. They all finally came up and of course I had to put the camera down to give them all a scratch and rub on the nose. Enjoy this weather cause a change is coming. Find your "God moments" and give thanks. 🙏

We picked Roberta Rae up last weekend after she had spent a month with Mark DeCoudres/Broken Spokes Clydesdales being started/trained. Now its up to us to put more miles on her. We put her with John today and went in the pasture then down the road. She did very well and we want to thank Mark and his crew for taking time out of their busy schedule to get Roberta started. Get out and enjoy this cool fall weather. May God bless you all with His grace and peace.

These three want to know if you're going to the Kansas State fair!? Last day for the Draft show, but there are other events running all week. Check them out too.

I need to clarify...we did not go and show this year, we went to watch and enjoy. Caught up with some friends which is always a blessing.

The Kansas State fair starts Friday, Sept 5th and that's the same day the Kansas Draft Horse and Mule show starts...at noon. The show goes thru Sunday, Sept 7th. This is a good time to meet and see what these big horses can do. From halter classes, cart and hitch classes, youth driving classes, costume class, riding classes and obstacle courses. Its just a great time to see the talent inside and outside the arena. What better place to be than in a barn with sights, sounds and smells of some big horses and friendly, hospitable owners ready to answer question and talk "horse". So come on out to the Kansas State Fair Draft Horse and Mule show!! Its a great family event. Maybe well see you there.

What a beautiful day to end a rather "challenging " work week. We all have them, but the Lord gives us the grace to persevere to the end. The geldings have had their feed and are sipping some fresh cool water...we went and enjoyed the "other" stock tank with a cold, tasty, red Budweiser. We want to enjoy the stock tank while it's still REALLY clean cause next year it might be being used by livestock. Hope everyone had a good week, enjoy the weekend, it could rain and sounds like there's a cool down coming. Thanks for checking in with us, God bless.

Meet the boys club...love it when they are standing at the fence/drive when I get home from work. There's Gunnar with all his white, John with all his bay coloring and black front foot, Valor the younger Clydesdale and last, Willie the half blood bay. If I walk to the fence, they jockey around trying to get attention in the form of pats n scratches. John, being the "leader" pushes his weight and size around to get the most...of anything!! Feed, hay, water, attention... Grass is looking a little dry in the back ground so pray for rain!! Have a blessed day...cheers
