Anishinaabe Sober Voices. January 17, 2023. Dianne Sullivan , Substance Abuse Counselor from Bizhiki was the guest speaker . She spoke about family programs. Discussion was held on the importance of family in the recovery process. Dianne also talked about a program for teens created by Hazelden Betty Ford. Call her at Bizhiki center at 715-638-5100. Miigwetch Dianne. Tracy and Steve talked about Anishinaabe Nooji(Anishinaabe Noojimo'iwewin) which is the act of healing.
A traditional talking circle is being held on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 6pm CST. In addition, other traditional activities are being planned for the future. The Sacred Pipe, smudging, and eagle feather is used in the circles. Wellbriety Wednesday’s focus is Wellbriety and Talking Circle Thursday is an open Zoom community talking circle. A final draft of an information document has been created and will soon be available online. You can get further information about Anishinaabe Nooji on Facebook Group and Facebook messenger(Nooji Chat. Anishinaabe Nooji was formed by Tracy Weaver and Steven Naganashe Perry.
