A clear mind changes everything.

When your thoughts aren't racing, when you're not stuck overthinking or carrying everything at once, you start to feel lighter. More present. More like yourself.

A lot of people reach for a cart or a joint hoping it'll get them there faster. But ma*****na doesn't actually clear the noise, it just dulls you to it. The anxiety, the overthinking, the heaviness? It's all still waiting when the high wears off. Sometimes louder than before.

Real clarity doesn't come from clouding your mind. It comes from clearing it.

That's where therapy comes in. It gives you the space to sort through what you're carrying, understand your thoughts, and build a mind that feels calmer — without anything you have to come down from.

You don’t have to do it alone. Contact us at https://www.horizonservices.org/project-eden-new/ to start clearing your mind.

Alameda County school district students, listen up! Your brain is still under construction at 16. 🚧

A recent Jama Network study showed that ma*****na use in teens significantly increases the risk of not only depression and anxiety, but also psychosis and bipolar disorder by age 26. But we know you know better!

After all, 78% of the Alameda County students we surveyed understand the negative long-term mental health impacts of substances like ma*****na. We just figured we’d check in so we can push for 100% 😉

There’s a difference between coping and numbing and most people were never taught it. 👇

Coping looks like exercising, calling someone you trust, writing it out, crying, or actually getting rest.

Numbing looks like va**ng just to quiet your thoughts, scrolling until 3am, or drinking at parties you didn’t even want to be at.

Numbing might feel easier in the moment but it doesn’t actually help. You don’t have to choose between feeling everything and feeling nothing. There’s a middle ground. And we're here to help you find it.

Plot twist: most teens aren't actually smoking ma*****na.

The "everyone's doing it" thing? Quietly fake. The majority of your peers are choosing not to.

Here's why that matters: your brain is still wiring itself until around 25. Ma*****na use during that build-out can mess with memory, motivation, and how you handle anxiety long after you stop.

You're not the odd one out for opting out. You're with the majority.

Take the W, not the L. 💪

Choosing sobriety is a win every time, no matter what anyone else is doing. It’s not about fitting in, it’s about showing up for yourself and your future.

Real strength is making choices that protect your mind, your goals, and your growth, even when it’s not the “popular” choice. Every time you choose yourself, you’re leveling up.

Stay winning. Stay focused. Stay sober. ✨

Fact Check Friday! 🧠

36.8% of young people report using an illegal drug by the time they reach 12th grade.

And recent use shows it can start even earlier:
▪️ 5.4% of 8th graders
▪️ 10.0% of 10th graders
▪️ 16.5% of 12th graders

These numbers remind us that substance use can start earlier than expected and that prevention can’t wait until later.

Open conversations, education, and supportive environments can make a real difference. Whether you’re a parent, educator, or teen, talking about substance use early helps build awareness, confidence, and healthier choices. 💬

Prevention starts with awareness, and awareness starts with us. for more facts about substance misuse, and tips for how to talk about it, check out family resource guide here https://bit.ly/41ooYye

Your brain is still developing and what you put into it matters. 🧠

During your teen years, your brain is building the skills you’ll use for life—like decision-making, emotional regulation, and memory. Substance use can interrupt that process, making it harder to focus, cope, and grow into your full potential.

Protect your growth. Invest in your future. You deserve a clear mind, real experiences, and the chance to thrive. ✨
