For the month of October, we proudly celebrated two shining stars who make our community stronger each day!

Resident: Lucy Dennis

Our resident hero has been with us since July of 2024. Lucy reminds us what resilience, kindness, and laughter looks like. Her strength and overall spirit improve our home and inspire everyone. There are very few days that Lucy is seen without a smile.

Staff: Danika Zivik (Fuller)

Our staff hero has been with us since February of 2025. CNA Danika goes above and beyond, offering compassion, dedication, and overall heart. She is a great advocate for our residents. Danika’s commitment to our residents makes our facility a place of comfort, safety, and provides that feeling of “home.”

Thank you both for being the heart and soul of our home!

Yesterday, we paused to honor the brave men and women who have served our country with courage, sacrifice, and devotion.

We did so with the assistance of the local VFW group. At Hayward Health Services, we are privileged to care for Veterans who continue to inspire us every day with their strength and stories.

We thank all Veterans - past and present - for protecting our freedoms and shaping the future of our nation. Your service will never be forgotten.

We had a spooktacular time celebrating Halloween with our amazing residents, staff, families at this year's Fall Fest! From festive costumes and fun games to sweet treats, the day was filled with laughter, love, and community spirit. 🎃

Hayward Health Services' leadership team and staff were honored to donate a basket to the Wheelin' For Vets Fundraiser. Proceeds will benefit the American Legion Post 218 Construction Fund, which supports building ramps for Veteran's at their homes, transportation, medical services when in need, and much more. We truly enjoy supporting the community.

North Shore Health recently held a maintenance appreciation party, complete with a cookout, awards, prizes, and co****le tournament. Bruce is known as much more than just the Sr. Maintenance Director at Hayward Health Services. 🔧⛑🔨

He's passionate about our residents, resourceful, and always quick to think on his feet. He's our grill master, ensuring there's always something good to eat; a listening ear for residents; a puzzle master; and so much more.

Bruce is the kind of person who jumps in to help with any task - no matter whose "job" it is - to make sure it gets done. Thanks to his dedication, Hayward truly feels like home for our residents.

Since joining Hayward in 2018, Bruce has done an outstanding job keeping our center safe, comfortable, and looking great. His commitment and care have not gone unnoticed.

🌟 Resident Hero: Eva Maiwald
Eva has been with us since October 2024. Eva is a testament to resilience, kindness, and making sure everyone has a “good morning.” Whether sharing stories with staff or residents, offering a warm smile or greeting, Eva reminds us that strength can come in many forms. We are honored to have Eva in our home and are grateful she continues to share this chapter with us.

Behind every act of care is a heart full of compassion - and Larissa embodies that every single day. As a CNA, she goes above and beyond to ensure our residents feel seen, heard, and valued. Whether it’s bringing laughter to our residents, showing empathy, or advocating for our residents' best interests, Larissa is a hero in our eyes.

Together, Eva and Larissa represent the soul of our facility: a place where care meets connection, and where every person matters. They are our heroes - not just today, but every day.
