Healthy WAY (Wellness in All Youth) is a leadership development and research training program designed to empower rural Kentucky high school students with skills to identify and develop solutions to health and social issues at the school and community level.

Student-led teams have the opportunity to work with school personnel to address real-world concerns youth are facing today that impact their health and well-being.

Disabilities Awareness Month!
Medical Equipment Donation Drive!
Friday Drop-Off Days!

This March, the UK Center of Excellence in Rural Health is pleased to join the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities to raise awareness about the importance of including people of all abilities in all facets of community life.

This year’s national disabilities awareness month theme is “A World of Opportunities,” celebrating people and working together to remove obstacles. The goal is to build a community that's committed to creating a world where everyone can do well and succeed. Join us in making a world where all people have the chance to thrive.

In celebration of disabilities awareness month, UK CERH will hold a durable medical equipment drive every Friday for the rest of March. If you have used medical equipment like, walkers, canes, wheelchairs, shower chairs or other helpful items, we welcome your donations in our front lobby of the UK CERH at 750 Morton Blvd. Hazard, KY each Friday, 10 AM -Noon. Our team of employees and students at the Appalachian Center for Assistive Technology will refurbish the items and donate them to others in the community through Project CARAT Eastern Kentucky. For more information contact Keisha Wells at keisha.wells@uky.edu

Check out the many programs and services available at the UK CERH in Hazard: the Appalachian Center for Assistive Technology, Toys with a Purpose, Project CARAT East Kentucky, CARAT-TOP and our lending library.
