Huge congratulations to Barry Martin on being named SOAR’s Business Person of the Year 🎉
From founding Primary Care Centers of Eastern Kentucky in 2003 to building the largest rural health system in Kentucky and the 5th largest in the nation, Barry’s vision and leadership have transformed access to healthcare across Appalachia. His commitment to this region, our patients, and our communities goes far beyond business—he has truly changed lives and created opportunities for so many.

Barry also helped bring the first recovery housing program to Perry County, providing mental health and supportive services after rehab through Beacons of Hope Therapy – Recovery & Beyond, giving individuals and families a real path forward. He also established the Mary E. Martin Diabetes Center in memory of his mother, who passed away from diabetes-related complications, the first in the area dedicated to comprehensive care and education for diabetic patients.

We are incredibly lucky to have him leading Primary Care and serving Eastern Kentucky with such heart, integrity, and dedication. So proud to celebrate this well-deserved honor.
