🌈 DIY Calm Jar (a.k.a. Calm-Down Glitter Bottle)

A soothing visual tool that helps kids:
✔️ regulate emotions
✔️ take a sensory break
✔️ focus during transitions
✔️ relax after overstimulation
✔️ practice calming strategies

What You Need:

• A clear plastic bottle
• Warm water
• Clear glue or glitter glue
• Fine glitter
• Food coloring (optional)
• Super glue (to seal the lid)

How to Make It:

Fill the bottle ¾ with warm water.

Add clear glue to thicken the mixture (this slows the glitter movement).

Add a few shakes of glitter — choose your child’s favorite colors!

Add one drop of food coloring if desired.

Seal the lid tightly (super glue for safety).

Shake and watch the magic settle. ✨

🌟✨ Little Things That Make a Big Difference ✨🌟

In ABA and in everyday life, progress isn’t always about big breakthroughs — it’s often found in the small, simple moments that help children feel safe, understood, and successful.

Here are a few little things that truly make a big difference!

🤝💛 Mirroring Builds Connection 💛🤝

One of the simplest—and most powerful—ways to connect with a child is by mirroring their actions, emotions, or play.
It’s a natural bonding tool used in child development, ABA therapy, and everyday relationships… and the best part?
It helps children feel seen, understood, and supported.

🧠💛 Fun Fact Friday: The Brain LOVES Routine! 💛🧠

Even small, simple routines help the brain feel grounded.
And when the brain feels safe and supported?
Progress comes naturally. ✨

💙✨ Autism is not a limitation — it’s an opportunity for victory.
Every new skill learned, every moment of connection, every step forward (no matter how small) is a win worth celebrating.
Progress looks different for every child, and that’s what makes each victory so meaningful. 🌟

💡 Try This Today:

When giving a direction, ask yourself:
“Am I telling them what NOT to do… or what TO do?”
Then choose the clearer, more supportive version.

Little shifts lead to big wins. 💙✨

Understanding the difference between a want and a need can make daily routines smoother, reduce frustration, and help children communicate more clearly. It’s a small skill that makes a BIG impact!

When a child can express what they need, they feel understood.
When they can express what they want, they learn patience, flexibility, and waiting skills.

Children may not always have the words to express what they feel —
but their needs, their efforts, and their progress are real, valid, and worth celebrating.

Let this be your gentle reminder today:
Slow down.
See the world through their lens.
Meet them where they are.
And celebrate how far they’ve already come. 💙✨

✨🧩 Tip Tuesday: Be Consistent 🧩✨

Consistency is one of the most powerful tools in shaping behavior — and one of the hardest to maintain in real life. But it doesn’t have to be perfect to make a big difference!

When children know what to expect, they feel safer, more confident, and more willing to follow through. That’s why consistency matters in:
✔️ Expectations (what you ask for)
✔️ Consequences (what happens after the behavior)
✔️ Routines (how the day flows)
✔️ Language (how you word directions)

Remember:
Consistency isn’t about being perfect — it’s about being predictable.
And that predictability helps children feel secure, supported, and successful. 💙✨

Mornings can feel overwhelming — for kids and caregivers. One simple way to make them smoother?
Use visual supports! 👀📋

When expectations are seen instead of only heard, the whole morning becomes more predictable and manageable — especially for children who benefit from structure and routine.

Start small, keep it simple, and celebrate every successful step.
Visual tools don’t just support routines…
They empower independence. 💙✨

Caring for a child with unique needs is a beautiful journey—but it can also be exhausting. 💛
This is your reminder that you deserve rest, too.

Respite care gives families short-term, reliable support so caregivers can:
✔ Recharge
✔ Run errands
✔ Spend time with another child
✔ Take a mental health break
✔ Attend an appointment
✔ Simply breathe

Needing a break doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you’re human.
And when caregivers feel supported, the whole family thrives. 🌿💙
