đź’ś Purple Thursday đź’ś
Today, staff from our Bloomsburg, Hazleton, and Wilkes-Barre offices proudly wore purple to recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Each October, we stand together to support survivors, raise awareness, and promote safe, healthy relationships.

Domestic violence affects individuals and families in every community. By wearing purple, we show our commitment to breaking the silence and supporting those impacted by abuse.

A special THANK YOU to our partners at Victims Resource Center for the incredible work they do every day to help survivors and advocate for change. đź’ś

October is National Liver Awareness Month!

Your liver works hard every single day — filtering toxins, storing nutrients, and keeping your body balanced. But liver disease often shows no symptoms until it’s advanced.

đź’ˇ Take charge of your liver health this month:
• Get tested for hepatitis B and C.
• Talk with your healthcare provider about your risk factors.
• Avoid excessive alcohol use and practice safe injection and s*xual health behaviors.
• Eat a balanced diet and stay active.

At Caring Communities, we believe that awareness and prevention go hand in hand. Protect your liver — it’s essential for your overall wellness.

🌟 Protecting Health, Strengthening Community 🌟

Vaccines save lives. They are one of the most powerful tools we have to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our communities from serious illness.

For people living with HIV/AIDS, staying up to date on vaccines is especially important. A healthy immune system makes it easier to fight infections, and vaccines provide an extra layer of protection against diseases that can be more serious for those with weakened immunity.

At Caring Communities, we encourage everyone — regardless of age or health status — to talk to their healthcare provider about recommended vaccines. By choosing to get vaccinated, you’re not just protecting yourself, you’re helping to protect those around you, including our most vulnerable neighbors. 💉❤️

👉 Take the step today. Stay protected. Stay healthy. Stay connected through care, wellness, and support.

🚨 Health Alert: Chagas’ Disease in the U.S. 🚨
Many people don’t realize that Chagas’ disease, once thought of as a problem only in Central and South America, is now endemic here in the United States. Spread by the “kissing bug,” this parasitic infection can cause serious heart and digestive complications if left untreated.

🧬 Why it matters:
• Over 300,000 people in the U.S. are estimated to be living with Chagas’ disease.
• Symptoms can be mild or even invisible for years before serious complications appear.
• For people living with HIV and other immune-compromising conditions, awareness and early testing are especially important.

đź’ˇ What you can do:
• Know the risk! Chagas is transmitted through insect bites, blood transfusion, organ transplantation, and from mother-to-child during pregnancy.
• If you have lived in or traveled to areas where Chagas is more common—or if you are living with HIV—talk with your healthcare provider about testing.
• Early detection and treatment can save lives.

At Caring Communities, we believe awareness is prevention. Please share this post to help protect our communities. 🫶
