The care she received at LVH–Hazleton left a lasting impact on her family, so much so that they created the Shining Diamond Award to honor the nurses and technical partners who showed her extraordinary kindness.

Mindfulness is helping students in northern Pennsylvania build resilience — from quiet breathing exercises to calming “zentangle” drawings in the classroom. At Hazleton Area School District, teachers say these practices are reducing stress, improving focus and strengthening connections between students and staff.

Schools partnering with LVHN’s Center for Mindfulness are seeing early, encouraging results as students learn techniques they can use far beyond the school day.
