Headland Family Medicine is a medical home providing patients a lasting relationship with a care team to coordinate healthcare needs. Our team is made up of Dr. Niel Rasmussen, a board certified Family Medicine physician; Ramona Bolin, Physician Assistant; and several nursing and clerical staff members.
We have been awarded Recognition by the National Committee for Quality Assurance for the Diabetes Physician Program for over 10 years now. We have also been awarded national recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance for Patient Centered Medical Care for 9 years now. These quality recognition awards reflect the importance we as a medical practice place on the patient as the center of focus of all that we do with special emphasis on the care for patients with diabetes and prediabetes.
One of the unique ways we attempt to provide patient centered care is to provide tools for lifestyle management. In our society today, it has been estimated that over 80 percent of chronic disease can be successfully treated or even reversed by aggressive lifestyle and behavioral changes. This is a major focus of our practice model. One of several tangible ways this is addressed at our practice is through monthly group support classes. These are provided as a free support service to our patients who are attempting to use lifestyle changes to treat and reverse their disease processes or even to prevent these so common diseases of today’s culture.
We provide several diagnostic testing services at our facility including EKG's, Spirometry, X ray services and several laboratory tests. Every effort is made to perform these services during your visit to assist with providing a comprehensive evaluation during one visit.
