On June 17th, local agencies came together for the Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport Triennial MCI (Mass Casualty Incident) Exercise, a federally mandated drill held every three years to test the airport’s disaster response plan and strengthen multi-agency coordination.
Bell's Ambulance Service's paramedic unit, M683, proudly took part alongside the Sonoma County Fire District, Sonoma Valley Fire District, Graton Fire Department, City of Santa Rosa Fire Department, SRJC volunteers, and many others.
This year’s scenario simulated a mass-casualty aircraft crash involving more than 45 passengers, following a failed landing and resulting fire. Crews were able to implement full MCI protocols, from triage to treatment and transport, providing valuable hands-on experience in a high-stakes environment.
A huge thank-you to everyone who participated and helped make this essential training a success!
